The anatomy of a great elevator pitch
Every strong elevator pitch follows the same five-part structure, adapted for the available time:
Open with the problem or a striking statistic — not your company name. Make them lean in.
State the specific pain in one sentence. Be concrete: "Restaurant owners waste $800/month on over-prepped food."
Your product in one sentence. What does it do and who for?
One number that validates demand: customers, revenue, waitlist signups, or a marquee customer.
What do you want from this conversation? "I'm looking for early users" or "We're raising a pre-seed round."
